Chapter 11:
TEMPTATION, TEMPTATION:
We are given ways of escape, and tools to NOT sin, so that we are without excuse. If we simply do the following, we find out how EASY it is, not to sin. I can personally vouch for that. I hate it now- and most of it, if not all of it- is not even tempting anymore. Those who know- about what Jesus said the consequence of sin would be, and know these following verses, yet STILL make stupid excuses for themselves; “Oh we have to sin, it’s our nature, oh God will forgive us”, are those in the Bible likened to “fools”. Listen; GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE THE SINS WE ARE NOT WILLING TO GIVE UP!! We must give up our sins to sin no more; it’s called “repentance”. Only then, can we go to the cross. Jesus said in Luke 13:3,5; “Except you repent, you shall ALL perish.”
WITH ALL OF THIS, WE HAVE NO EXCUSE.2Cor. 10:5; “…Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” (If you do this, the thought will never even give birth to sin to begin with.)
James 4:7; “Resist the devil and he will flee from you!”
Psalms 119:165; “Great peace have those who LOVE Your law, and nothing causes THEM to stumble.” (Read it! I never “loved” His law before I gave up sinning; but through the wisdom of obedience, I very MUCH love it now! It’s only after your will has been completely broken to the will of God, that you begin to love His law. The more you read and love His Word and His Law, the less you will be tempted by anything! That’s the truth.)
Psalms 119:11; “Your word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
Prov. 16:6; “By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.”
Prov. 14:27; “The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death.”
2 Pet. 1:10; “Therefore brethren, be even MORE diligent to make your call and election sure, for IF you do these things, you will NEVER stumble.”
1Cor. 10:13; (Read this and hear it, feel it, understand it, and REALLY get it); “There is NO temptation that has overtaken you except only what is common to man; but God is faithful, and He won’t allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will ALWAYS make the way of escape, so that you may be ABLE to bear it.”
Mark 9:43-48; [This passage is too long to write here but basically says this: It is BETTER to cut off the body part you use to sin with, or you WILL go to hell with it!]
