Chapter 4:
THE COMMANDMENTS; IRRELEVANT OLD TESTAMENT BYGONES? OR NECESSARY FOR SALVATION?:

Exodus 20:1-17 are “the ten commandments”, and Jesus Himself commanded this; “IF you want to enter into life [Heaven], KEEP the commandments.” (Matt. 19:17)

John 14:21; “He who KEEPS My commandments, it is HE who loves me.”

1John 2:4  “He who says, ‘I know Him’, and does not keep His commandments, is a LIAR and the truth is NOT in him.”

Psalms 119:142; “…Your law is truth.”

John 15:14; “You are My friends IF you do WHATEVER I command you.”

Acts 5:32; The Holy Spirit is only given to those who OBEY Him.

Heb.5:9; Jesus is the author of eternal salvation only to those who OBEY Him.

Matt. 7:21-22; Not those who call Him “Lord” shall be saved, but ONLY those who OBEY Him.

Eph. 2:8-10; (The key word here is “works”. This is one of the most read yet greatly misunderstood passages of scripture. Paul mentions the word “works” twice; the first mention of works is referring to ‘circumcision’ [VS. 11] for salvation. The second mention of works, refers to God’s commandments.); “For by grace, you are saved through faith, and that, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: Not of WORKS [circumcision], lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good WORKS [God’s commandments], which God has before ORDERED that we walk in them!”

1Cor. 7:19; “Circumcision is nothing, and un-circumcision is nothing, but the KEEPING OF GOD’S COMMANDMENTS.”

Acts 26:20; (Here again, Paul says); “…Repent and turn to God, and do WORKS giving evidence of repentance.”

John 15:10; (If you don’t “abide” in God’s love, will He let you into Heaven? That answer is obviously no. So HOW do you abide? That answer is in this verse); “You shall abide in My love IF you keep My commandments…” (BIG ‘IF’)

Luke 19:27; (Jesus speaking of his servants, who don’t let Him completely rule over them, will be destroyed, and He will refer to them as His enemies, even though He clearly states that He is talking about His OWN servants.); “Bring here those enemies of mine who did not want Me to RULE over them, and kill them before me!”

Eze. 18:20; “The soul that sins, it shall die!”

John 14:23; “IF a man KEEPS MY WORD, My father will LOVE him, and We will come to him and dwell with him.”

John 8:32; “If you CONTINUE in My word…” (obey it), “…then are you My disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Matt.7:24-27; “Whoever hears My words and DOES them, I will liken him unto a wise man… who built his house upon a rock… and the house did not fall because it was founded upon a rock.”

Daniel 9:4; “Oh Lord, the great and DREADFUL God, who keeps His covenant and mercy to them that love Him; and KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.” (KJV)

Deut. 5:10; “I show mercy unto thousands of them who love me and KEEP My commandments.”

Ezek. 18:21; (The definition of repentance); “But if the wicked will turn from ALL his sins that he has committed, and keep ALL My statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.”

Gal. 5:19-21, 1Cor. 6:9-10, Col. 3:5-6, Eph. 5:3-6, Rev. 21:8,27, Rev. 22:12-16: Here, the apostle Paul, the apostle John, and Jesus Himself all state clearly that all those who are breaking the COMMANDMENTS shall in NO WISE enter the kingdom of Heaven.

Rom. 8:4,13-14; “That the righteous requirements of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do NOT walk according to the flesh, but after the Spirit… for if you live after the flesh, you SHALL die: but if you through the Spirit put to death the deeds of the body, you SHALL live.”

Matt. 5:18; Jesus Himself said this: “Truly I say to you, until Heaven and Earth pass away, not one letter, nor the smallest dot shall pass from the law until all be fulfilled.”
